Bourbon as it Used to be, Now Castle & Key
My daughter says she likes to B&E, something she said she learned from me traipsing through the rough and thickets often looking for vestiges of an old hamlet or school. Never really knowing if we were indeed breaking and entering AKA, B&E.
There would be no doubt of B&E had we climbed in over and around the gates back on that first day, instead a conversation with the security guard and a phone call lead us to being allowed in, in the fall of 2014. Since that first visit I have had the opportunity to meet the visionaries who are bringing bourbon back to life at The Former Old Taylor Distillery here on McCracken Pike.
The bourbon soon to be flowing, from the first female master distiller since prohibition, Marianne Barnes.
I’m sure the ghost of Colonel E.H. Taylor is sitting somewhere and lifting a glass to see his vision brought back from the past.
